Customer Rating: Summary: Good accessory for the emergency kit. Comment: These are not long enough to wrap over and around the entire finger. Seems more to be a finger tip splint, at the about 3.5 inches they are. But, they are easy to bend into shape, and they hold that position very well without counter bending. They appear to be made of a soft, flexible metal, completely surrounded with a comfortable dense plastic foam-like material, which is very comfortable. There is nothing to peel or stick, although I would probably recomend using gauze tape around/over it to guarantee the security of its position.

Editorial Reviews:

Acclaimed by emergency care providers and outdoor enthusiasts worldwide (and even beyond the Earth, on NASA space shuttles), the SAMĀ® SPLINT is based on an ancient construction principle: curves are strong. The reason lies in the physics of curved surfacesthe same physics that allows skyscrapers and bridges to be built of I-beams and hollow columns rather than heavy steel pillars. A flat piece of sheet metal bends easily, but if you mold it into any of several structural curves, it becomes much more rigid.
