Summary: BIG ____ cot!
Comment: I bought this for use at home when company comes to visit, not for camping. I bought the XL because I thought, "Why be cramped in bed at home?"
Wow! This sucker is huge! As wide as a twin bed, and even longer.
Yes, its heavy: not for backpacking unless you're taking a mule, but would work for car camping.
Yes, its big: won't work in an RV, nor in most small footprint tents. This needs to be in one of those huge 10 person tents, or in your living room after you move the coffee table.
Yes, it takes a bit of pull to connect the end rods: The Slumberjack cots and one's of similar design get their rigidity from a brace at each end, which also stretches the canvas. Connecting the rod on one end is pretty easy, assuming you have it right-side-up in the sleeve. The other end though.. you fight a lot of tension in two directions, but I found after getting one end of the brace popped on, it just takes a knee on the x-brace and pushing down on the rail, and you can pop the end brace right on.
Yes, it sleeps well: especially with a blanket or sleeping pad under you. Heavier people will sag more than on a narrower cot, simply because there's more fabric to stretch. But it will support you safely and comfortably.
After several nights of having large family members sleeping on it and putting it away each morning, I popped one of the feet off while trying to unfold it. The "hold-on" screw had pulled through the rubber, apparently it had snagged itself. But I pushed the foot back on, and it has remained, even after skootching it around on the carpet.
But boy, is it big!

Summary: Good but huge!
Comment: I only layed on the cot for a couple hours and found it comfortable. A friend used it for 3 nights and found it comfortable as well. It is very large. It takes up most of any room. It is also hard to assemble. I was able to get only one of the end bars in place. It seemed to work fine without it. Overall I am pleased with the purchase.

Summary: Best Nights Sleep Ever!!!
Comment: I have never slept very well camping. I'm 6' 8" and 240 lbs and always seemed to be on a flat Aero Bed by morning. This cot is the way to go. It is very sturdy and was comfortable sleeping on my back and side. The storage underneath is very handy. You will not want to backpack with this thing...a little too heavy for that. Also, you might not be able to fit as many of these in a tent as it sits up high and so you have to move the cot more towards the center of your tent (if your tent has slanted walls). Very happy and plan to buy another one for my wife the next time my kids force me to go camping again.

Summary: Nice and big cot
Comment: This cot is great to use with a twin size inflatable air mattress. I used it during a recent Christmas visit to a family get-together, and was glad I had it. It requires a bit of "muscle" to set it up, but once it's up, you're ready for a good night's sleep.
I recommend this cot for using with an inflatable mattress and where there is plenty of space for a cot.

Summary: Won't Last
Comment: When I first used this cot it seemed excellent. The frame is very sturdy and the cot was comfortable. If I had written a review at that point I would have given it 5 stars. But the second trip I took the cover burst like a balloon. Really, I could feel it give a little, and by the time I could get off it there was a 4 foot long rip. It was then I started looking closely at the material of the cover - it is some rubberized material with a few threads in it - not a real canvas. And it has zero rip-stop capability. I tried to sew it but it was like trying to sew a balloon - it just doesn't work. The Slumberjack people say they will give me a new cover, but they never seem to have one in stock to send (for 4 months?). Only get this cot if you plan on using it once! My previous cot lasted 8 years.
