The Hickory tree is a 'Carya', related to the Pecan. Though baseball bats are now primarily made from ash, Babe Ruth used a 47 ounce hickory bat. Based on our experience the sizing chart shows suggested lengths of staffs corresponding to individuals's heights. These are only suggestions.
